Saturday, October 25, Michelin chef Þráinn Freyr Vigfússon will join us in the highlands for a restaurant pop-up. Þráinn focuses on celebrating Iceland’s culinary heritage, presenting a special five-course tasting menu with an optional wine pairing. His restaurant, ÓX, was awarded its first Michelin Star in 2022, and in 2025, a Green Michelin Star for sustainable practices. Treat your tastebuds and enjoy a quality weekend in the highlands.

Þráinn Freyr Vigfússon is a multi-award-winning Michelin chef and owner of renowned restaurants Sumac and ÓX. ÓX, which opened in 2018, is a unique 17-seat restaurant that focuses on modern Icelandic cuisine using locally sourced ingredients. The name ÓX (meaning “to grow” in Icelandic) reflects Þráinn’s evolving vision of creating a dining experience that celebrates Iceland’s rich culinary heritage while offering a personal, intimate atmosphere. In 2022, ÓX was awarded its first Michelin Star, and in 2025, the Green Michelin Star for its sustainable practices.
